Oak Knoll Elementary celebrates reading with book character and reading festival
On October 28, Oak Knoll Elementary School celebrated reading with a book character parade and reading festival.
Students and teachers dressed as their favorite book character and march to the gym in a parade procession, chanting “Reading Rocks.” Upon arrival to the gym, students were treated to stories by storyteller Mama Kofu.
Several classes dressed in book themes. Yolanda Thompson's fourth grade class portrayed the book, "Frindle," by Andrew Clements while Shana Allen's and Lashonda Mills' classes dressed from "Talking Eggs" by Robert San Souci.
