The IT Program Management Department works in support of student achievment by ensuring the appropriate products, services and technologies are available to FCS employees and students. The department provides services to Principals, School Technology Specialists, Fulton County Schools (FCS) employees and students. IT Program Management also serves as a liason between the FCS customer and vendors (Dell, Promethean, Layer 3 Communications, etc.) contracted to provide computer hardware, software and other services to the District.
IT Program Management responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of hardware growth and refresh plans. This includes the acquisition and deployment of desktop computers, laptops, network printers, interactive whiteboards, networking hardware and other technologies as required to all FCS schools and administrative sites. The department also manages various vendor contracts and ensures training and support programs are established for all provided technologies.
The department is also striving to standardize the project management process through the establishment of a project management office (PMO).
