Produce and serve nutritious, safe and customer acceptable breakfasts, lunches, and snacks.
Our Vision
Is for all students to consume a nutritious and safe school breakfast and lunch in support of student health and achievement.
Our Goals and Objectives
· Improve the perception of the School Nutrition Program through increased involvement of students, parents and other stakeholders.
· Increase student and adult meal participation through promotions and nutrition education.
· Manage and increase local, state, and federal funds.
· Serve breakfasts and lunches daily in all schools that meet the nutritional needs of students based on USDA regulations.
· Support the District Wellness Policy.
· Effectively communicate sound nutrition education information to staff, parents and the community.
· Pilot e-training/web-based modules for staff.
· Operate a self-sufficient, financially sound program.
· Continue to maximize cost control measures to not over spend on variable cost (labor, food, paper/plastic)
· Meet USDA requirements for menu analysis and to provide one-fourth of the breakfast and one-third of the lunch Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs) for students.
· Comply with federal, state, and local laws, rules, policies and procedures.
