Schools are chosen for Open Enrollment based on the following information:
Using the classroom allocation model which considers projected enrollment and the instructional program needs of each student, identified elementary and middle schools are anticipated to have classroom space for the 2012-13 school year. High school space was determined based on state capacity. Charter schools are excluded from this transfer option.
IEP requirements and GHSA eligibility cannot be guaranteed for students accepting transfers. Parents may rank their choices for school transfer on the application where indicated. Applications will be assigned a lottery id number which will be used to randomly select approvals for transfers should the number of applicants surpass the number of available seats at each schools. If students are not chosen for their first choice of transfer, the application will be considered for the secondary choice(s).
PLEASE NOTE : Approval of one child under Open Enrollment does not ensure approval of siblings for current or future school years.
