The annual Fulton County Regional Science & Engineering Fair is an event that provides a platform for the students in Fulton County to display their independent science, engineering, and mathematics research. Fulton County Regional Science & Engineering Fair participants are chosen from the best local school projects and compete for regional honors in January 2013. One project will be determined as eligible to compete in the INTEL Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) as a result of the regional competition. Designated regional fair winners compete in the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair (GSEF) on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens. Additional selected projects from the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair qualify for competition in the ISEF to be held in Phoenix, AZ in May of 2013. Competition at each level can also result in special awards for projects that meet specific awards criteria. Science fair participation for students at any level can be a rewarding experience resulting in increased understanding and interest in science, engineering, and mathematics.
